The challenge and how we solved it

1. Step 1

   The challenge

   Online vendors buy stock from wholesalers they have never met. Fake “plugs” are everywhere, and a reseller who pays the wrong person loses money and customers. There was no trusted way to know that a wholesaler's shop and stock were real before paying for an introduction.

2. Step 2

   What they needed

   • A public directory of verified wholesalers by market and category, each with a plug code
   • A phone-first app for field agents to visit, photograph and verify shops
   • Dated verification badges that expire, so stale listings drop off on their own
   • Paid introductions through payment links, backed by a replacement guarantee
   • An opt-in deals list for buyers and a console for owners and admins
3. Step 3

   What we built

   We built three applications in one Next.js codebase: the public website, an admin console for owners and admins, and a field-agent app designed for phones on the move. Resellers send a plug code on WhatsApp, agree a price and pay a Paystack link for the verified contact. Every badge carries the date it was last checked. The data layer runs on SQLite locally and PostgreSQL or MySQL in production, with Clerk for sign-in, Cloudinary for shop photos and Resend for email.
